  • The 20th century has been characterized by three developments of great political importance: the growth of democracy, the growth of corporate power, and the growth of corporate propaganda as a means of protecting corporate power AGAINST DEMOCRACY.

  • Found out this fun little project―my societal contribution,
turns out to be an Open Source Project!

Though remiss here, the Open Source tidbit is not all I've been learning. It's been with a renewed breath of sparked resolve, that I've finally revamped this series to include newfound learnings from the precious few recent books (2011/12) out there updating us about how we are faring in this wholly new digital experiment; updates confirming Ray Kurzweil's, right-on-time predictions from his 2005 book ― The Singularity.

Here's the good news: these books validate this series. Yep, I'm on the right track. The bad news: irrespective of how others put the shine on this looming techno-future, we're headed for some truly unprecedented, rough times —unless of course, we seek together-- a saner light at the end of this tunnel. If there's one running theme to all I've learned and written about, it's embodied here: it's imperative today's masses raise their awareness about all-things techno. Standard jargon includes the words exponential and irreversible.

Like most, I'm average. Average is good. We are now educated and freer than ever. Choice is ours. We are the ones who will ultimately usher in what's to come. No, we don't always make great choices but to do nothing is the worst choice we could possibly entertain. In 2013, I finally splashed into the vast pool of web-chatting. Timid at first, I didn't know how to use the functions, didn't know what I'd even write. So if a remembrance of your own awkward participatory first-steps just lit, then help us learn to engage here. Twenty some odd years of perfecting our viral chatting skills is surely time enough. We must advance our voice to the next empowerment level and, The Big www is currently ― ours for the taking.

    Exponential ― Irreversible ― Existential.
It's within the next 20 years ― not some distant futuristic time ― when the human versus machine outcome will be irreversibly sealed. In that, not every techno-experiment is conducive to our freedoms or ― to our very existence. Here's one more tidbit worth remembering. ALL experts agree: this dive into one cataclysmic, transcending-abyss runs high in near-total or total―existential risks to all humanity.

It's been with a resigned acceptance that I've stuck to this 6-year gauntlet. Now, it's your turn. This forum awaits you. I check in here now and again; kick the bots out & respond to the occasional private message but eventually, a brave soul will come along to start this crucial process. And I, will be here to help.

Somehow, Somewhere, we must raise our awareness about all-things techno. Well, I've used over 100,000 words to give us a base start. Now, it's your turn.

I added this section for sanity's sake. DP is just evolving and my knowledge about the nuts & bolts behind creating a kick-ass forum is about as much as you'd find residing in a once filled cup of campfire brew.
